Pet Plan Charitable Trust is made up of a Board of Trustees and two Committees, the Welfare Committee and the Scientific Advisory Committee.
The Board consists of eight trustees. Apart from two lifetime members (the founders, Patsy Bloom and David Simpson), trustees are elected on a two year rotation basis. Existing trustees have the option to put themselves forward for re-election if they so wish. Trustees meet twice a year.

Members of the Welfare and Scientific Advisory Committees are appointed by the Board of Trustees.
The Welfare Committee meets once a year to consider on-going welfare grant applications and to monitor the progress of grants previously awarded. The Committee then forwards its recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

The Scientific Advisory Committee meets once a year to consider pump priming grant applications and to interview shortlisted full grant applicants. The Committee then forwards its recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The Committee also monitors the progress of previously-awarded grants by way of reports submitted by the grant holders.
